Ay up lads
Just droppin a line to say had a fantastic time last friday night. Sorry we didnt get to see you at benedicts on sunday but we were really pushed for time. I think youre all brilliant and i really enjoyed the whole weekend in Belfast and i hope to be back soon.
P.S had the cd on loads since i got back and i even had to make my mum a copy!

now then lads, got to be one of the best shows i've seen, couldn't talk properly for a few days cos of all the shouting and stage banter but well worth it, hope we can catch up again soon to carry on where we left off.

Really enjoyed your show at Benedict's of Belfast yesterday. It's great to hear some traditional music in Belfast, I've been looking for it for ages. Unfortunately it's all too difficult to find in Belfast and it's a pity there aren't more bands covering the traditional scene here. As I'm a Gaelic speaker from Scotland I was pleasantly surprised when you played Capercaillie's recordings during the interval and also your sound reminded me of the great Scottish folk rock group Wolfstone. Hey it took Scottish folk rockers Runrig 30+ years to get a single in the top 10 UK wide, maybe you'll meet with similar success before too long..

Hi there. I was, wth Brian Aldwinkle a founding member of Blackthorn in about 1970 when I was a student at Queen's.(and picked the name!)
We started as a duo and then expanded.
Hard to believe the band is still going. Best of good luck to you all. Gordon Manley's is the only name on the site I remember.
I still have a cracked copies of our first singles London's Derry and The Lid of my Granny's Bin, but I don't want my kids to find out!!!

i was an erasmus student in belfast this year....and spent all friday night in robinson........i loved your music and i miss it so much...i miss even drunk people..... i want to go back to belfast in january.......actually i ld like to know if u keep on playing in robinson on friday night? or if u became an international group of music travelling around the world.........
and second question ; are u going to come to interceltic festival of lorient in france next summer?

Hi Blackthorn!
It's been a while since I was in B'fast now, I studied from January 'till May of this year and the absolute high lights of my stay were your gigs on Friday night in Fibber Magee. Our group of Erasmus students has spent many a great/drunk night there. Thanks for so much fun, music, entertainment and energy.
I hope to see another gig sometime soon!

Hi All, I am french but engaged to a brave Welsh man and we went to visit my cousin in June who currently leaves in belfast; we went for food in benedicts and assisted at your amazing concert there; thank you so much for highlighting my stay in Ireland;

We saw you last friday night at Fibber McGee's in Belfast and the show was amazing! I was with my wife and a friend and we are from Seattle Washington. We sat at the front of the stage and loved it! That was what we were hoping for at the pub. Wish you had played "Whiskey in the Jar", though. Thank you for the highlight of our Ireland vacation! Where can I get more music? Thanks again guys!

Boys,
I am sure you remember me. I was one of the "Sociable" Canadians that saw you a few weeks ago at Fibber McGee's in Belfast. We were a bunch of Canadian sailors out together having a good time and you made it one of the most memorable nights in a very long time.
We were deployed for six weeks and had several port visits, but that night was by far the best. You fellows entertained us at the highest level. Thank god I had the sense to buy your CD so I can relive that night.
Thanks a lot and I hope we cross paths again.
